Marketing & Social Media Manager

The Connecticut Public Affairs Network (CPAN) is seeking an experienced Marketing & Social Media Manager to oversee the integrated marketing program for its growing, dynamic and multifaceted organization that is dedicated to building healthy democracy through a well-informed and highly-engaged public.

Are you a strategic thinker and a master of critical details? Are you comfortable with both traditional and social platforms and approaches to marketing communications? Do you have what it takes to manage an expanding brand family and help drive business in an entrepreneurial nonprofit setting? This position may be right for you!

Based in Hartford, CPAN develops and manages multiplatform civics education initiatives ranging from the Connecticut Network (CT-N), Connecticut's Old State House, Kid Governor and Connecticut History Day, and more are on the way. Responsibilities for the Marketing & Social Media Manager position include:
  • Plan, execute and monitor marketing, advertising, public relations and social media activity for brands and programs - across all paid, unpaid, online and offline channels.
  • Manage editorial calendars for all earned and shared content, including but not limited to social media management, press release distribution, story pitching and management of inbound press inquiries.
  • Develop advertising executions and marketing collateral, including scripting, design and editing; maintain integrity of brand identities across all applications.
  • Develop and administer market research for all lines of business, including data entry and analysis.
  • Create, administer and evaluate promotional initiatives.
  • Assist President in creation and implementation of marketing plan to position and promote all CPAN projects and initiatives.
  • Work with business unit management teams to ensure seamless integration of strategic, operational and marketing activities.
  • Perform all other duties as required by the President.
In addition to being a strong writer and creative thinker, the ideal candidate will have these minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field; Master's Degree a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Marketing Specialist, Marketing Coordinator or equivalent position
  • Superior business writing, PR writing and marketing copywriting skills
  • Experience in multimedia storytelling on social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills
  • Well-spoken and articulate; comfortable with public speaking in wide range of situations
  • Experience in advertising creative direction, website design and commercial design & printing processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite; audio & video editing skills a plus

Production Technician
CT-N Control Room

The Connecticut Public Affairs Network Inc., is seeking an experienced, full-time Production Technician to work on productions originating from the Connecticut Network (CT-N) broadcast control room in Hartford and remote locations throughout Connecticut. A solid control room background and production experience is a must, with strong skills and knowledge of audio and video routers, switchers, character generators, video servers, cameras and audio mixers.

The ideal candidate can successfully multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, using superior communications and interpersonal skills. You must function well independently and as part of a highly-motivated team, while meeting tight deadlines. Knowledge of state government a plus! Flexibility in work schedules required, working scheduled or unscheduled overtime as needed. The ability to lift or move up to approximately 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required, as is an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 - 4 years of relevant experience. CPAN offers an hourly rate of $15-$16/hr.
