The Board of Pardons and Paroles

The Department of
Consumer Protection
reviews and often fully investigates all written complaints sent to the department. Agency divisions include Food and Standards, Drug Control, Liquor Control, License Services, Trade Practices, Product Safety, Real Estate and Professional and Occupational Trades and the Lemon Law Auto Dispute Settlement Program. |

The Office of State Ethics
was established as an independent agency to build and maintain the confidence of Connecticut's citizens in the honesty, integrity and accountability of their state government through education and the interpretation and enforcement of the state's Codes of Ethics. |

The Freedom of Information Commission
administers and enforces the provisions of the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, and ensures citizen access to the records and meetings of public agencies in the State of Connecticut. |

The Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities handles approximately 2500 yearly complaints from people who believe they have experienced illegal discrimination for a variety of reasons including age, race, sex, physical disability, color or national origin. Created in 1943, the then named Interracial Commission was the first state agency in the nation established to “investigate the possibility of giving equal employment opportunities to all people”. |

The Department of
Public Utility
